T O P I C R E V I E WhannaramaaWhat's the difference between those and our natal charts? I'm an Aries sun, but progressed I'm a Taurus. Which one do I go by?CatMoteim glad you asked, this question was on my mind earlier today! ------------------Sun Aries Moon PiscesMars Pisces Venus PiscesMercury Aries Jupiter in VirgoSaturn in Aquarius Pluto in ScorpioNeptune and Uranus in CapricornAscendant LibraI'm so cappyI wanna know too.------------------I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy.vesta a progressed chart shows what is happening in your life. the transits will make it happen The best way for me to explain is to use this example ... When one of my karmic soulmates was fulfilling his karma with me it was showing in his progressed chart. The transits took care of when it would happen. That is the way I understand it to workStarlightSmileSupremeThere's also progressed planet's aspects to natal planets.somethingexcellentIf you're an Aries, but your sun has progressed into Taurus, you might feel like both and not just one or the other. You'll act like a Taurus, but still do Aries things. That's what happens to me, any ways! I act like a Sagittarius, but deep down, I still feel and do Scorpio things.SaturnineMothI like to view the progressed charts as being different chapters in a natal's life, you keep your natal positions (always, they are the anchor, so to speak, blueprint, cortex), so they play the role of an index/ToC, but as with everything in life, we change with time, we grow, we evolve... with each passing transit to the natal, to the progression we gain new experiences... we fill in the chapters of our lives... ~lately... I've been exploring progressed synastry and composites lately as well, though it is hard to come by much information on applying the progressed options, they should work similarly, and with transit charts (draconic eh, though I don't look at those too often at all). My progressed Moon is now just finally over my North Node (Natal NN 15* GEM, now Moon is 16*) I have Mars cnj p/nSaturn now, and nSun cnj pVenus. And, at long last... Libra Ascendant. (I find it strange that more aren't aware of the effects in their chart the progressions tend to have, I can pinpoint exactly when my Ascendant moved into Libra, but I'm sure having tPluto/tSaturn/tNeptune to natal and progressions have had an amplifying affect over the progressed transition. Still, maybe it isn't so noticeable when you have no voids, for instance, or have the next positions influence already in your natal... vs-vs --- but, even looking back, going through the shift of having virtually no air (void - NN/MC/Vx only) from triple Earth to triple Air, it really shows in everything, hindsight and at present.) Certain things will make strange synchronized patterns through events too, one I can think of off the top of my head... my progressed Moon becoming cnj my son's Sun when he was born (along with sharing his North Node via progression) at the same while, my husband's progressed Sun was cnj my progressed Venus... coupled with transits which possibly could be read to describe the approaching birth of our late born (was due in early March actually) weeRam and shotgun wedding (April 2nd/June 2nd - 07). ^^; (pJuno trine husband's Psun cnj my pVenus, tJuno square his pSun cnj my pVenus lol; pComp Juno cnj our son's (my prog)North Node - 6th house *n7th)...) @___@ it's confusing, even typing it all out... >.<; But, in any case, you have decide how to and if you like to incorporate them and when. But, I've found they're pretty invaluable, and definitely worth the trouble of investigating when you start feeling something is up. Since, usually - it shows in the t/p to natal somewhere... ^^(I don't really refer to Solar Arc... ftr... one day... just not now.) ~___~;;; I was looking ahead for the day my Moon becomes pCancer... it will cnj MC exact... lol *crosses fingers* my emotions better not bring me any publicity/attention... (but who knows, Mars will be in Sagittarius.... that'd be, ugh... interesting?) oh, slightly irrelevant tJup finally crossed my (natal) NN (opp my nVenus) and cnj my pMoon too! oh~ but, I only experienced good luck... I say... keep the Gem transits coming if they'll only be so kind to follow suit~ haha <3 *enjoying Jupiter transits? yup* ^^; Kinda wonder if that's why I've been sleeping better~ lol (weird, I know... but it's been years since I really got a decent sleep... having child and all...) @3@; ~poof~ MillyXThink of it this way: You are still & always will be an Aries sun but you are acquiring Taurus sun signs characteristics. It's like an American immigrating to France. He will always be American but he will acquire some French traits when it comes to lifestyle, language, food etc. Progressions are just that, as a human being you progress & your character & personality changes. No human being stays the same since birth, everyone's personality evolves.Venusian MoonSooooo do the energies of progressed and regular combine? Sadly, my Venus progressed into Virgo. Not my favorite placement. That's the downside to natal Venus in Leo. HOWEVER my weak, sad, afflicted Mars progressed into Capricorn and I agree, it just adds to my personal power, strength and vigor especially in my own home, it's in house 4 now where it is exalted by sign. Upside to having natal Mars in Sagittarius So this means the ruler of my progressed ascendant Scorpio has progressed into the sign of it's exaltation. Niiiiiice! There is a silver lining to all these progressive clouds.CatMotewhat are the rates at which the planets progress??------------------Sun Aries Moon PiscesMars Pisces Venus PiscesMercury Aries Jupiter in VirgoSaturn in Aquarius Pluto in ScorpioNeptune and Uranus in CapricornAscendant Librasomethingexcellent^For the Sun it's about one degree per year. The Moon generally travels 30 degrees in 25 months. These are rough numbers of course. The other planets however are much more complex. See, really, a progressed chart takes the time you've been alive and compresses it, adding that to your natal chart. So like, if you've been alive 20 years, it compresses that to more or less 20 days and adds that to your natal.SO! The Moon naturally is in a completely different sign 20 days after you were born, right? It's the same with the rest of the planets - wherever they go after you were born is the path your progressed chart will take.My natal Venus is Scorpio but because of a retrograde period, it stayed in Scorpio for many days after I was born, and my progressed Venus will therefore stay in Scorpio fr many years. StarlightSmileSupreme^^^At Astro.com, it says the moon progresses at 71' a month and I don't see any numbers for these others. I only recently started looking at progressed charts so I am new at them. If you go through your progressed charts at this website maybe it tells you somewhere? There are several to choose from...Moon moves 14"10' a year or am I missing something? somethingexcellent^Omg I'm so so so sorry I meant two years + a month, but then considered saying a year and 13 months, but then decided not to and it came out wrong. My Moon is going Libra this year! Maybe I'll start celebrating astro progressions instead of birthdays. pMoon from Virgo to Libra oughta make things so easy breezy and I'll be the flirtatious inner mink I truly am! Doux RêveI can definitely relate to my progressed chart, even though the natal is still "there".I think the influence of a progressed chart is quite subtle, it's not as in your face as with transits. And it's felt more when there's an actual tight aspect between progressed and natal chart, set off by a transit.Notice how progressed charts are always involved when people fall in love or get together.. always.LeocassandraWhich transits are stronger?
